Sacramento’s Julie Baenziger, a.k.a. Sea of Bees, has created quite a buzz among the national indie scene for some time now. LA Weekly, Portland Mercury, NPR—a few of the many outlets that have praised her diverse indie folk aesthetic, songs that showcase the sharp bite in her voice, swaddled in a gentle acoustic cloth one minute and a lush, ambient backdrop the next. These songs have even taken her overseas, having recently wrapped up a month-long tour of the UK. Yet despite all her national acclaim and international adventures, for Ms. Bee, there’s no place like home.
